Data access

In the project DigiWELL, we value the principles of open science and are happy to support other meaningful research activities. However, to ensure the protection of sensitive data, participant privacy, and the overall integrity of our research, we have established a clear and transparent process for data requests from external researchers.

Before you decide to submit a request, it is important to familiarize yourself with our policies. Each request is reviewed individually and approval is not automatic. We reserve the right to reject a request on scientific, ethical, legal, or commercial grounds. Your request must have a legitimate research purpose, which must be described in detail in the form. Furthermore, without express agreement, the data cannot be used for commercial purposes. If your application is approved, you are bound by a confidentiality agreement – you may not share the data obtained or use it for any purpose other than that approved. It goes without saying that all publications based on our data must properly cite the provided dataset and acknowledge the DigiWELL project.

The application process itself begins with the formalization of your request via an official online form (https://redcap.osu.cz/redcap/surveys/?s=EL38FKWMCJWPCLHR). In it, you will be asked to provide your identification and contact details, such as your name, institution, and role, specify the required dataset, and, above all, provide a detailed description of the purpose and planned use of the data. After submission, your request will undergo an initial review by our data management team, who will verify its validity and completeness. It is then forwarded to the Data Access Committee, which will carefully consider your research intent, the potential risks associated with identifying participants, and all legal implications.

Our data manager will inform you of the outcome of the decision. If approved, they will provide you with secure access to the data, for example via a one-time link, and familiarize you with the exact conditions of use. Even after approval, we expect you to comply with all the conditions set and to ensure the security and integrity of the data throughout its use.
