The main applicant in Research of Excellence on Digital Technologies and Wellbeing is University of Ostrava, represented by the Faculty of Education (PdF OU). The project is professionally managed by internationally recognized social scientist Steriani Elavsky. The primary workplace at PdF OU for achieving the project’s goals is the Department of Human Movement Studies and its research Center for Human Movement Diagnostics (CDLP), now located in the newly built modern facilities of Behavioral Health, Sport, and Technology at OU City Campus. The project also involves the Faculty of Social Studies (FSS OU) and the Institute for Research and Applications of Fuzzy Modeling (ÚVAFM).
ÚVAFM focuses on theoretical research and practical development of various fuzzy modeling methods, currently being one of the few institutes in the world successfully operating in the field of fuzzy modeling. FSS OU engages in international scientific collaboration, particularly with universities associated with the European Research Institute for Social Work (ERIS), such as within the Social Work and Social Economy (SOWOSEC) program. In the research field, FSS OU specifically addresses topics related to individuals excluded from housing and those in unfavorable life situations at risk of social exclusion due to age or health.

Masaryk University (MU) is the second-largest public university in the Czech Republic, with more than 30,000 students. Within MU, the project involves the Faculty of Social Studies (FSS) specifically the following departments:
a) Interdisciplinary Research on the Internet and Society IRTIS VThis research department explores how people use information and communication technologies (ICT) and the impacts of their usage. Key research interests of IRTIS include ICT and wellbeing (mental, physical, and social), ICT and health (eHealth, mHealth), online security, and the broader field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).
b) Institute for Psychological Research (INPSY) This institute focuses on interdisciplinary social and health topics, including active citizenship and mental wellbeing, the use of ICT in older age, the internet and health (use of social media, games, or pornography), tools for building supportive communities, and the processes and outcomes of psychotherapy.
c) Department of Sociology This department specializes in several research areas related to the DigiWELL project, particularly in the research of family, aging, and intergenerational relationships and their connection to health and quality of life.
Additionally, the project involves the Faculty of Informatics (FI) and its Department of Machine Learning and Data Processing.

Palacký University (UP) in Olomouc is a public university with eight faculties (medical, natural sciences, law, philosophical, health sciences, theological, pedagogical, physical culture), where nearly 23,000 students study. UP contributes to the project through three departments:
From the Faculty of Physical Culture (FTK) Department of Recreology (KRL), specializes in the impact of a healthy lifestyle on individuals and society. The Institute of Active Lifestyle (IAŽS), an interdisciplinary scientific research unit at FTK, focuses on researching physical activity and inactivity in relation to the overall lifestyle and health of the Czech population. It also plays a coordinating and advisory role in monitoring physical activity for Central European countries.
Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology (CMTF), is also part of the project at UP. The Olomouc University Social Health Institute (OUSHI) within CMTF is dedicated to research and education in the field of health with an emphasis on its social and spiritual determinants. It focuses on topics related to health inequalities and determinants of health for vulnerable groups such as youth, seniors, patients, or the Romani community.
